L'OCCITANE Cologne Cédrat Shower Gel -


Recently I have been loving L'Occitane's men's shower gel. Shower gel is not something I normally get very excited about. I mean, I'm all about nice smells, but when it comes to products that are essentially going to get washed down the plug hole, I tend to just purchase whatever smells the best and isn't going to break my bank account! However - I was bought this shower gel as a birthday present (they were obviously hinting at my personal hygiene!) and as soon as I lifted the cap to smell it - I was instantly hooked! 

The smell is not your usual shower gel smell - it's still clean but it's like you've smothered yourself in an expensive cologne! Don't worry! The smell isn't overpowering - I hate hygienic products that have overpowering smells, whether its Shampoo, Shower gel, deodorant or hairspray - I can't stand when a product's smell lingers in the back of your throat. 

L'Occitane's shower gel smells like you've lightly spritzed yourself with their expensive cologne - and it stays on your skin for a good 5-6 hours. I mainly shower in the evening, and every time I get into bed my Girlfriend asks 'why do you smell so nice? Have you put aftershave on?' (again making me question whether I smell particularly awful day to day).

Its Masculine without smelling like you are ready to go 'out out' with your mates! Its clean and refreshing but with a hint of the gentlemanly elegance you would expect from a French brand like L'Occitane.

The main ingredient being Cedrat - a mysterious citrus fruit that is mainly grown and sold within in Sicily - provides the fresh and uplifting fragrance, whilst the the woody base notes adds to the luxurious cologne fragrance. If you are looking for something 100% natural and animal friendly (something that normally wins me over when choosing products) then this might not be for you. I was unable to find any information as to whether L'Occtaine products are cruelty free and/or suitable for Vegans. 

However if you are looking for a great smelling shower gel with a brilliant bubbly lather (you literally only need a tiny amount of gel to create loads of suds - making it last for a really long time!) then I would definitely recommend this one. It is a 2in1 so you can also use it on your hair, I haven't used this on my hair yet so I wouldn't know how good the results are - I would imagine it is great since it leaves my skin feeling cleansed but not dried out - I can't stand that stripped, tight feeling you sometimes get from using the cheaper shower gels! 

If you are looking to treat yourself then I would highly recommend L'occitane's Cologne Cédrat Shower Gel. Just be prepared for a higher water bill, showers will increase by another 10 minutes as you just want to keep washing yourself to enjoy the smell!!!
